Youri Jigounov

Youri Jigounov got his interest in comics through Tintin magazine, starting when he was five years old. For two years, he studied at the Academy of Civil Aviation in Moscow, and then fulfilled his military service. In 1989, he joined KOM, a Moscow comics studio. Because of the limited possibilities for publication in Russia, Jigounov decided to turn to a West-European publisher. In 1994, he headed for Brussels, Belgium, and was signed up by Lombard publishers. He worked with Renard and created the espionage series ‘Alpha’. Unfortunately, Renard died after two albums, and the script work was continued by Mythic. Youri now lives and works in Belgium.
