Vladimir Kavanevsky was born in 1950 Lebedin, Ukraine. He graduated at the Kharkov State University, majoring in Cosmic Radiophysics in 1973. In 1984 he also graduated at the Kiev Institute of Journalism, as a Press Artist. Currently Kazanevsky is a free-lance cartoonist and writer. He has won 101 prizes in international cartoon competitions in 28 countries.
